Stoneware paper clay with impalpable grog 0-0.2 mm (up to 80 Mesh). Formulated for artistic ceramics, it is unique for modelling, thanks to its exceptional plasticity. It is especially suitable for making impossible shapes with difficult drying. The presence of paper fibres inside avoid formation of cracks and problems of deformations, and leads PCL clay to surprising artistic possibilities. Odourless. Available in extruded body (moist form).
Firing range*: 1100-1260ºC / Cone 03-7
Biscuit temperature: 1050ºC / Cone 05
Water content: 24%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 27
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
Drying shrinkage: 6.7%
Firing shrinkage 1200ºC: 5.8%
Porosity (water absorption) 1200ºC: 5.6%
Dry bending strength: 5.2 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1200ºC: 39.5 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1200ºC (25-500ºC): 55.7x10^-7ºC^-1
Available in the United States and Canada. ACMI AP Seal. Conforms to ASTM D-4236
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150ºC/hr heating rate.
